I’m so glad you’re interested in my blog!
In 2018, I graduated with a Master’s degree in English literature from the University of Toronto, and before that I received an honours degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from the University of Regina. In past lives, I’ve been a dance teacher (ADAPT Certified) and a hair stylist. I currently reside in Saskatoon (Treaty 6 Territory and Homeland of the Métis). I’m of British, German, Russian and Métis descent–a combination that I’m very proud of.
Like all of you, I love to read! I fell in love with literature when I was just a wee lass, and I have my mom and my grandmothers to thank for that. They had such captivating read-aloud voices, instinctively knowing when to slow down or speed up, speak louder or shift to a whisper; it’s from them that I learned how powerful rhythm and sound are to the written word.
My preferred genres are… I have no preferences. I’ll read anything from Shakespeare, to Harlequin, to YA thriller, to poetry, to literary theory. Though, I suppose, if I had to say I leaned in one particular direction it would probably be poetry.
I’m currently working on a poetry chapbook, and I hope to find the time to finish a novel one day. My poetry has recently been published in untethered magazine, ARC Poetry Magazine, spring magazine, and Kiiyaanaan Aykwaa: Us Now.
Thanks for joining me, and happy reading!
